Flagged for L!

...

Note that none of this conversation about the original Captain Happy is true.

Sure.

Captain Happy hosting a 50s kid show - now that is fueling my imagination! :-D
(Yeah I know, for all we know, the original and the current CH may not have much in common beyond the name...)

Also: That trucks cargo!!

Fabian, there is actually more to the history of the name Captain Happy, but this is the currently relevant part.

CG isn't as prone to lengthy asides (and dumping info) as I am. :)

@Fabs: one of my best recent memories is sitting down with Prof and hearing straight from his bearded face the sordid details of Captain Happy... the part about the original being a children's show host is real.

BM is the least menacing fellow you'll see for at least a week.

There's a few things that seem off about the chinless-bald guy here, one of which is how he uses the pejorative term "fag" without also using a harsher word to describe Japanese people than, "Japs."

Well, "yellow bastards" was used, but I'm not aware of other pejoratives for the Japanese. AFAIK, the term "gook" was specifically for the NVA and Viet Cong.

Huh. So the boogeyman hides in your trucks now instead of under your bed. Neat

Well, there was this one delivery truck called the "Meat Mobile"...

These two are just chatting away.

Hush, hush...

(I was wondering exactly how you would bring this to bear. Nicely done.)

But seriously, they are letting loose an anomalous beastie in Autumn Bay, where there are at least two organizations dedicated to protecting against such things. Not smart. Not smart at all. :)

Stand by for the next page... it's a taste of why you mustn't leave, why you can't leave this thing of ours.

The OG Captain Happy sounds like a badass. They didn't make 'em soft back them, that's for sure.

Bogey seems delighted to be unleashed at last.

For all his negatives--a gross lack of personal hygiene being prominent among them--BM maintains a remarkably consistent positive attitude.

To get the attention of these guys, Captain Happy must be the greatest or lowest human being in history. Hard to say which.
